Leominster LL Meeting Sept 14 at the 12 St Fieldhouse 6pm

The Sept meeting will be used to summarize our year and to prepare for elections in October.  The agenda will include a discussion of the roles and responsibilities of Board positions.  We encourage full participation from families and interested parties at all meetings.

To achieve our shared goals of providing safe and fun after school opportunities to all the children of Leominster, we need a well functioning and full Board of Directors.  The league runs on volunteers and there is much work to do on any given week; seen and unseen.  Ideally,  there would be 16  different members of the Board of Directors.  9 of those are considered executive team members.  Very often in recent years,  people have held multiple positions due to lack of  involvement/participation from community members.  As a note, this trend of lower participation has been seen across sports and in schools for many years but sharply since COVID.  It would be amazing to continue our vibrancy by bringing in more hands!

For the upcoming year, interested parties will have the opportunity to put in their names for voted member positions.  These positions will include:  

Executive Board

  • President 
  • Vice president (12th, School, Bernice Ave, Kennedy way - one each )
  • Executive Board Coordinator 
  • Secretary 
  • Treasurer 
  • Player agent 

Board of Directors

  • Umpire in chief
  • Safety officer 
  • Equipment manager 
  • Major rep
  • Minor rep
  • Instructional rep
  • Tball rep

The team will also include and hopefully have ongoing representation from:

Managers

Team coaches

Team parents

 

I will address any questions related to roles during the September meeting.  After that discussion,  interested parties will be asked to email BOTH [email protected] and [email protected] and provide their full name, their years of service to the league and the position in which they are interested by September 21st.  There will be no leniency with this date as Carmin will need to create and post the slate in full that evening to ensure that we are in accordance with our existing bylaws.
